Created, arranged, and taught Maryland Institute College of Art Summer Program in Painting in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Month-long, three-credit Landscape Painting Course. Also co-led three-credit Art History course: "The Concept of the Sacred in Mexican Thinking."
1990 to 1999
Faculty at Maryland Institute College of Art. Courses taught include life drawing, landscape painting, "Creative Uses of Figure", "Personal Directions in Painting", and "Realism to Abstraction."
1982 to 1984
Adjunct Professor at University of Maryland School of Medicine, Baltimore. Under NIH grant, co-developed and co-taught "Seeing the Body: The Body As Metaphor" for medical school students.
1984 to 1995
Organized, arranged and taught Drawing and Painting course in my studio, to twelve to fifteen students for a fourteen-week semester. Installed "Heuisler Studio Students" shows in Baltimore: Enoch Pratt Library (1992, 1993, and 1994); St. Paul's School (1993); Hamilton Street Club (1995), and Baltimore Culinary College (1995).
Grants and Awards
1971- 1972
United States Information Agency grant to organize gallery at American Cultural Center and create arts, drama, and literature programming for college students. Rabat, Morocco.
1974
Affiliated Fulbright Scholar with Afghan-American Educational Commission, Kabul, Afghanistan. Organized and taught silkscreen printing workshop to Afghan college students and professional artists. Work continued under a grant from the Asia Foundation, San Francisco.
1982 to 1984
NIH grant to co-develop and teach medical humanities course for University of Maryland School of Medicine.
